Announcement on New Ballpark construction site and establishment of preparatory company
At an extraordinary Board meeting of Nippon Ham Corporation held today, it was resolved to select the planned site of Kitahiroshima Sports Park in Kitahiroshima, Hokkaido, as a candidate for the construction of a new baseball stadium, as well as to proceed with concrete measures toward the construction of the new stadium, including basic design and verification of the feasibility of the project. Hokkaido Ballpark Corporation (Head office: Sapporo City, Hokkaido; President: Kaname Fukuda; hereinafter referred to as "Hokkaido Ballpark") was established to promote these initiatives.
1. About construction Site
As announced in the "Establishment of a Task Force on the New Stadium Construction Concept" released on December 19, 2016, Nippon Ham Corporation and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, Inc. have established a task force under a collaborative structure to conduct research and study on the new stadium construction concept.
As for the candidate site, after comprehensively considering various conditions related to the construction of a new baseball stadium from among several proposals, we decided today to select the planned Kitahiroshima Sports Park in Kitahiroshima as the candidate site, and informed Kitahiroshima to that effect.
